Citizens Academy

The City of Kings Mountain is excited to offer our first ever Citizens Academy!  Our Citizens Academy is designed in the spirit of transparency, openness and participation.  It will provide a positive avenue for participants to interact with staff that they are not accustomed to seeing when they come into City Hall to pay their utility bills.  It is our goal to provide good information and convey a positive image of the City of Kings Mountain, while giving an opportunity to ask questions about how municipal government is structured, how tax dollars are spent, and how utility rates are determined. Participants will also learn how they might become involved in decisions that have a direct impact on their neighborhood.

We are excited for our fall session, but space is limited to fifteen citizens, so act fast!!  The academy is open to City residents, 18 years of age or older.  Applicants must be willing to sign a Release of Liability Agreement and have a clear background check.

Applications are available in the Administration Office at City Hall, or you can print the application form, fill it out, and bring it to City Hall at 101 West Gold Street Kings Mountain NC 28086.
